“Turks Are Not Allowed To Enter.” Umit Ozdag’s New Lie About Syrian Refugees
The leader of the Zafar party, “Umit Ozdag”, known for its racism against foreigners in Turkey, especially Syrians, continues to stir controversy on social media.
Ozdag, through his official Twitter account, posted a tweet, which he attached to a video containing false information targeting Syrian refugees.
In his tweet, Ozdag indicated that there is a nightclub in the Turkish state of Gaziantep owned by a Syrian refugee, who prevents Turkish citizens from entering it.
Ozdag said in his tweet, full of provocations and racism: “Yes, we are in Gaziantep now and very close to Ataturk Square, and here is a side street in the middle of which is a nightclub owned by a Syrian refugee, as this Syrian does not allow Turkish citizens to enter the nightclub.”
Umit Özdag also shared the hashtag #GEREkirsezorla (if necessary, we will send them by force), meaning that if he takes power, he will forcibly send Syrian refugees to Syria.
In a short time, Ozdag’s tweet spread widely on social media, and some opposition accounts shared racist comments against refugees.
In response to that tweet, a Turkish citizen named Khalil.K posted a video clip in which he indicated that he is the owner of the aforementioned nightclub and that his ownership does not belong to a Syrian person, so Ozdag immediately deleted his tweet without making any comment or statement on the subject.
It is worth noting that Ozdag has many racist statements against refugees, and we mention the most famous of them: “Syrians shop from Syrian shopkeepers and have no contact with Turkish shopkeepers. The distance between us is increasing, and we, as a party, promise the people of Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa and all of Turkey that we will send the Syrians to their country forcefully if necessary.
