In Berlin, Life Sentence for a Citizen who Stabbed a Syrian Child in the Heart
The Berlin District Court has sentenced a citizen named (Gökhan O.) to life imprisonment for killing a 13-year-old Syrian child on Halloween in 2020, after stabbing him in the heart.
The incident occurred, according to the Turkish “ARTI 49” website, on October 31, 2020, which coincides with the day of “Halloween” celebration in many countries.
Where the Syrian child “Mohammed A.” collided with the citizen of Turkish origin “Gökhan” in the “S-Bahn” tunnel between “Monbijoupark” and “James-Simon-Park” in the German capital, Berlin.
The site indicated that the citizen, who has 18 criminal records, considered the collision of the 13-year-old Syrian child with him as a “lack of respect”, which prompted him to take a knife out of his pocket and stabbed the child directly in the heart, which caused his immediate death.
Gökhan was sentenced to 12 years in prison in his first court, and the assault was not described as racist by the court, but he was retried in the Berlin Criminal Court, which sentenced him to life imprisonment for racially motivated murder.
