According to Swedish Judge Dag Matsson, who is responsible for the committee that studied the rise of racism in Sweden and made the proposal, “The reasons for banning racist organizations and imprisoning those who join them have become very important, stressing that there are clear indications that racial persecution in Sweden is on the rise.”
Matson explained that freedom of opinion is guaranteed in Sweden, but there are opinions that should not lead to racial humiliation, discrimination or criminal acts, such as an organization that incites the supremacy of men over women, harassment, vandalism, unlawful threats or systematic racial hatred against a race or belief Because of color or religion.

The proposed law would penalize participation in racist organizations. The penalty can be up to two years in prison, and in serious cases, up to four years in prison.
The committee also suggested imposing penalties for supporting the racist organization, such as renting out premises for these organizations or illegal donations to them.

Although most of the Swedish parties agreed on the proposal of the Parliamentary Committee, the Left, Liberals and Democratic Safari opposed the proposal for reasons related to fears of suppression of opinion, but the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee stressed the importance of implementing this law immediately, as Sweden has weak legislation in this aspect, so it received criticism from The United Nations on the increase in racism and discrimination in Sweden against foreigners and those of foreign origin (immigrants)
