A tragic end for a Syrian youth in a Greek forest

A Syrian young man from Deir Ezzor Governorate died in a forest in Greece, after falling into a deep valley and sustaining serious injuries and fractures in several parts of his body, which caused his death hours later, amid the complete inability of his friends to help him and the failure of the Greek ambulance teams to respond to their calls.
According to the correspondent of “Orient Net” Zain al-Abidin al-Akidi, the deceased young man is called “Hammoud Ahmed al-Dali” and hails from the town of Gharanij, east of Deir ez-Zor, adding that he was on his way to seek refuge in Europe with his friends when the painful accident occurred in a mountainous area in which deep valleys are spread.
Activists stated that “Al-Dali” was in a group of thirty Syrian youths, and when they saw a car coming towards them in the mountains, they thought it belonged to the Greek police, so they ran and hid and descended into a deep valley, causing them to fall and seriously injuring a young man, which resulted in his death.
Activists posted on social media a video clip of the deceased young man with several of his friends, who were also injured as a result of the fall with fractures and injuries, some of them critically.
For its part, the Rescue Cell, an organization concerned with refugees and their news and trying to provide assistance to them, said that four young Syrians were left by their group in the forests of Greece, and their situation was bad, as one of them lost his life after suffering as a result of wounds and fractures he sustained due to exhaustion, fatigue and falling from a height to rocky valley.
The rescue cell indicated that the young men were 24 hours old and the ambulance was informed of their condition, and that there are two also with fractures in the face and feet, pointing out that the group changed its location more than once until it finally settled on one of the roads for easy access.
The police clarified that the ambulance came to the exact location of these young men, and the injured were transferred to a hospital in the Alexandre Rapoli area, while the dead body was transferred to the mortuary in the hospital.
