Brutal attack on a Syrian refugee in Austria

A Syrian refugee was subjected to a racist attack at the train station in the city of Schrading, in the state of (Upper Austria) in the north of the country, by a person who hates refugees, who himself is of immigrant origin.
The Austrian newspaper (Kronen) said, “A young man of immigrant origins, who lives in the town of Andorf, attacked the 32-year-old Syrian asylum seeker, who lives in Altschwindt.”

The 25-year-old perpetrator dragged the victim to the ground and hit his face and upper body several times with his fists, it added.
The newspaper pointed out that “a patrol from Charding City Police, while patrolling the train station, noticed the brutal attack, intervened immediately and ended the quarrel.”

While the police arrested the perpetrator, the 25-year-old attempted to flee and resisted arrest and handcuffs with violence, kicks and blows, which resulted in the injury of two police officers.
According to the newspaper, “the 32-year-old Syrian man was injured as a result of the attack, and the perpetrator was reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and when asked why he attacked the unknown Syrian, the attacker said that he “hates asylum seekers.”
