Ekrem Imamoglu’s Contradiction in Dealing with Refugees

Despite the previous positions taken by the GHP towards refugees in Turkey, especially Syrian refugees. In a surprising move, party member Ekrem Imamoglu visited the Polish capital of Warsaw, where he met a number of Ukrainian refugees and offered his condolences. Imamoglu appeared in one of the widespread clips, hugging a crying Ukrainian refugee, and showed her support and sympathy.

All this brings to mind the previous racist statements made by the party against the Syrian refugees and their constant threat of deportation. This different treatment of Ukrainian refugees compared to the Syrians by the party member Ekrem Imamoglu  cause different reactions.
