Germany Reveals the Total Number of Racist Attacks on Refugees During 2022
The German Interior Ministry stated that since the beginning of this year, nearly 400 cases of racist attacks have targeted refugees, the largest proportion of whom are Syrians.
According to the German newspaper “Neue Osnabruecke Zeitung”, the statistics of the Ministry of the Interior revealed about 424 racist attacks on refugees, during the first half of 2022.
The report indicated that the rate of attacks decreased by about 25 percent compared to last year, when the number reached about 576 attacks.
Among the attacks, they targeted refugee homes, in the form of property vandalism, or offensive graffiti on the walls of homes, and the number of such attacks was 43.
During these attacks, 62 people sustained various injuries, including burns.
The number of refugees in Germany is more than two million, including about 800,000 Syrians, who fled their country after 2014, to escape the brutality of the Assad regime and its security policy.
