Syrians Leave Turkey For Europe

A Turkish website revealed that about 25,000 Syrians left Turkey for the European Union during the last period, due to the increasing racist rhetoric against the presence of Syrian refugees.
The Turkish “TGRT” website confirmed that about ten thousand eligible Syrians traveled to the European Union through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as part of the resettlement project, while 15 thousand Syrians migrated illegally towards European countries through Turkey.

The website pointed out that the anti-immigrant statements and the rhetoric of “deportation” spread in Turkey, prompted the Syrians to draw a new map of their lives, aiming to get out of the country towards Europe.
The website added that the high number of Syrians leaving Turkey has caused a shortage of labor in some sectors, especially in shoes, textiles, construction and food.

The Turkish website talked about several factors that put Syrians on the migration routes from Turkey, most notably the economic difficulties in Turkey, and the restrictions imposed on travel, speech, and anti-refugee measures.
During the past hours, Syrians called, through social media posts, for a general strike in Turkish factories and facilities.

The text of the circulated calls stated: The Syrians are required to strike a general strike in all Turkish factories, factories and companies for six consecutive days and in all Turkish cities.
