With the approaching date of the Turkish elections scheduled for the summer of next year 2023, the opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) has escalated its call for Syrian refugees to return to their country, by publishing inciting banners promising to send them permanently after winning the elections.

Many banners spread in the squares and streets of Turkish cities promoting the political propaganda of the Republican People’s Party (CHP).
Other banners included electoral promises to withdraw from the refugee agreement with Europe and border control. One of the banners read: “We will withdraw from the European refugee agreements, we will say goodbye to refugees within two years…we will regain control of our borders.”

There were many places to hang the banners, as they were spotted in many streets of Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara, and they all pledged to solve the refugee file and expel them to their country, while the Republican People’s Party has not yet officially announced its election campaign.
