Turkish Police in Hatay Prevent Umit Ozdag From Laying Mines

The Turkish Assistant Minister of Interior, Mr. Ismail Çatakli, announced that the head of the Zafar Party, Umit Ozdag, had been banned from blocking mines on the borders.

Chatakli said in his tweet on Twitter“This provocation is not allowed to be done by a person whose only source of strength is xenophobia, who has been taking a provocative way by saying that he will lay mines on the borders of Hatay, a person whose life consists of lies and provocation.” The Assistant Interior Minister attached a tweet to Umit Ozdag, in which he threatens to go to the state of Hatay to plant a mine on the Syrian-Turkish border.

Umit Ozdag had promised, if he came to power, that he would withdraw from the Atau agreement to clear mines and would replant them on the Syrian-Turkish border to prevent the arrival of refugees to Turkey.

Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu stated that the Interior Ministry will not allow Umit Ozdag to plant mines on the Syrian-Turkish border.
