Damto Desalania, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in the occupying country, emphasized that the latter had no way of obtaining any status officially recognized as refugees, including by not providing health and welfare services, imprisonment, encouraging departure, limiting residential areas, and incitement The maximum limit granted by Israel is a “visa for temporary release from detention.”
He added in an interview with a local conversation site that “these pressures on immigrants in the occupying country have prompted at least 4,000 of the 28,000 asylum seekers who live in Israel to apply to move to Canada, given the unsafe conditions in which they live.” Here, although we are not aware of any cases of harm to the national security of the occupying country by these immigrants, and therefore what distinguishes Israel from other countries is that there is no positive policy for the treatment of immigrants.
He pointed out that “the occupying state has no policy to accept them, and does not provide a policy that guarantees minimum access to health and basic services for survival, and they are not allowed to drive, nor send money, and they can only work in certain sectors, and their children are sent to schools Separately, all with the claim that Israel is a Jewish state, and should remain a Jewish state, and immigrants are treated from this ideological perspective, and therefore it sees it as an obligation to accept only Jewish immigrants.”
The strange thing is that despite the official Israeli position opposing the presence of African immigrants with racist allegations, other Israeli sectors show encouragement for them to remain in the state, but not out of love for them, but rather a desire to use them in professions that the Israelis deem as “weak” that does not suit them, claiming that leaving the Sudanese and Eritreans means closing a quarter restaurants, streets remain dirty, garbage will not be collected on time; Because they accept any job, work hard, and pay taxes that contribute to the well-being of Israelis.
Despite this, these immigrants are not exempt from racist behavior on the streets of the state, whether because of the color of their skin, and they are exposed to ugly looks that pave the way for racist attacks on them, killing and destroying his property.
Knowing that Israel power is turning a blind eye to the fact that eight thousand immigrant children will soon turn 18 years old, and they have no future, and this is not a small number, although the occupying power has begun negotiating secret agreements with Rwanda and Uganda to receive these immigrants, disregarding what comes with that. of danger to their lives there.
