Turkish Zafar Party , The Party that Follows the Policy of Hostility to Foreigners
A Turkish political party with an extreme right-wing ideology, led by Umit Ozdag, who has been waging a stinging attack for several months against Syrian refugees and foreigners residing in Turkey, demanding their expulsion and the restoration of Ankara’s relations with Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
The party was founded on August 26, 2021, and the party headquarters is in the capital, Ankara, and it has a sole representative in the Turkish parliament, its president, Ozdag, who defected from the IYI party.
Umit Ozdag, a Turkish politician of Dagestan origin, was born in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, in 1961. He was a member of the “National Movement” party and then was expelled from it in 2008. He joined the IYI party before resigning from it also in 2021.
This Zafar party follows a policy of hostility to foreigners in general and refugees in particular, and uses this issue as a pressure card. The electoral propaganda that the party is pursuing is to get rid of refugees and expel them from Turkish lands. It also uses the method of falsifying the facts in order to discredit the refugees and frame charges against them.
